Cards
I've been finishing up my fall newsletter, and one thing I am really super excited about are my new Christmas card templates with not only great looks, but great shapes! Two are round, one is, well, ornate! And the others have plenty of fru fru to lighten up my day. Of course right now they only feature yours truly and my favorite four, but next year I'll some new faces to display! Heck, I just bought them today!

StoneyRidge
Every fall for the past several years I've photographed families and kids at StoneyRidge Farm in Everson on Van Dyk road. Usually I set up a nice scene and hang out for a Saturday, but this year I'm shaking things up - you can reserve a session at StoneyRidge for me beginning with a $99 package and a half hour of photos. This way we can take advantage of the great set ups the Gavette family already have in place. The twins and I spent about an hour at Stoneyridge and had a blast!

website
I am delighted to announce that I will soon launch a brand spanking new website!
I've had my old site for about... hmmm... 7 or 8 years! I was pretty early in the website realm, but my site has not kept up with the times, plus it's getting so crazy complicated that I practically need a computer degree to work with Adobe Dreamweaver!
So I'm using an awesome drag and drop building site. You can judge for yourselves the outcome! Check over the next few days at http://www.karenmullen.com
thanks for looking!

Seniors
Babies are devine, children adorable, but seniors... my heart has always been first with photographing high school seniors! Teenagers at 17 and 18 have found much of the path in life and carved their own unique place. I love meeting them, knowing them, and doing my best to capture their original personalities in images that they and their parents will treasure.

Heritage
Saturday, June 5, I'll be at the Lynden Heritage Festival at the vendor area at 7th and Front street. I would love as much company as possible... it can get pretty lonely out there!
Plus I have some great specials again this year, "double your bucks" certificates and $50 in free photo bucks for 2011 seniors who book at the show!

Spring
Spring seniors are always a blast and always provide a crazy time! One the one hand, I'm not nearly as busy in the spring as in the fall, but on the other hand the deadlines are way crazier - photograph today, get the pictures next week! Of course everyone needs their wallets for announcements and friends. And they will get them! Here is a sampling of this springs seniors, all unique and excellent people... and about to launch into adulthood!

Adoption
I finally put together a page for my adoption photos! I photograph for the organization, Celebrating Adoption, and each adoptive family gets a free session and free proof book, plus 15% percent off the price on any orders. We've had a wonderful influx of kids from around the world here in Whatcom County - Guatemala, Ghana, Ethiopia... and of course kids from right here in the USA. I love adoption - making a life-altering difference for a child. I've watched our friend's kids grow up and seen the joy over the years. This is one way I can make a small contribution and give these wonderful families a portrait to cherish.

Video
I am having a blast with the latest addition to my photo arsenal: video! I love it for spicing up my slideshows, which I always use to present the first view from a photo session.
Here is Jack at age 3, testing out my brand new backyard bridge! Enjoy.

Matthias und Sabine
I spent 10 days in Germany this past September, and photographed a lovely wedding of a fabulous couple, Matthias and Sabine Greye. Here are their favorite pics in a slide show. Enjoy! (click on the words above!)

Lainie
Over the years my kids are always my favorite subjects to photograph. My daughter Lainie is an actress in Seattle these days and actually needs my abilities! This is pretty thrilling for me, since my older boys do not enjoy me lining them up for yet another photo.
These photos are the latest - she needed something with a little more edge than we had photographed previously.
